Stuart’s career in the Justice Sector spans 38 years. His career in the UK covered a wide range of experiences which including being an instructor at the Prison Service College, through to Operations Manager and then Residential Manager in a Core Local prison. He has been responsible for running a Safer Custody Unit housing 100 prolific self-harming prisoners. His UK career finished in 2005, when he returned to New Zealand, where he has worked The Department of Corrections National Office as well as Regional Training Officer for NRCF. He is a firm advocate of staff maintaining high standards of “Duty of Care” in their performance and having innovative systems and developmental processes in place to satisfy this required culture of change.
